The Turkish club “Besiktas” is not interested in acquiring the Colombian midfielder of St. Petersburg “Zenith” Wilmar Barrios, informed TASS General Director of the Turkish club Seychun Kazanchi.
“No, Besiktas is not interested in acquiring Barrios. This is fake news,” Kazanchi said.
RPL top scorer made poker and brought Zenit a big victory
Turkish channel beIN Sports reported on May 3 that Besiktas are interested in Barrios’ transfer.
Barrios, 29, has been with Zenit since 2019. The midfielder’s contract with the St. Petersburg club is valid until the summer of 2026. This season, he took part in 26 matches of Zenit, in which he scored one goal and gave two assists.
As part of Zenit, Barrios became a four-time champion of Russia, the owner of the Russian Cup and won the Russian Super Cup twice.
Besiktas scored 65 points in the 31st round and is third in the Turkish Championship, five points behind table leader Galatasaray.
