The world of Dragon Ball is full of strong fighters. It all started with the little Saiyan warrior Son Goku, who has now grown up and started a family with Chi-Chi. The same thing happened with ex-villain and prince of the Saiyans Vegeta. He now also has a family with the scientist Bulma and even a son named Trunks, who carries the Saiyan genes.
But many fans often forget about the proud warrior’s other child, Bra, because she also inherited her father’s Saiyan genes and has great potential as a warrior. But there is a reason why we never see her fight.
Bra in Dragon Ball Super
After the events of the Boo Saga in Dragon Ball Z, several years have passed before the start of the Dragon Ball Super story. At the beginning of Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta’s son Trunks has already grown into a toddler and Gohan’s daughter Pan has been born. Bulma was pregnant at the time with her second child, Bra, who was born later in the story.
Vegeta was initially against the name “Bra” and wanted to give his daughter a name worthy of a Saiyan and decided on Eschalot, like shallot, the vegetable. This would continue Toriyama’s tradition of naming Saiyans after vegetables. However, the proud Saiyan gave in after a while and left her name “Bra”.
As the Dragon Ball Super story progresses, she grows into a toddler and demonstrated the same high intelligence as her mother in the Super Hero arc in the manga. She repaired Bulma’s laptop in seconds after it was infected by Dr. Hedo’s computer virus.
That’s why Bra doesn’t fight in GT
In Dragon Ball GT, Bra is already a teenager and doesn’t seem to be interested in her Saiyan heritage, as she shows no desire for fighting and resembles her mother more than her father. Vegeta also doesn’t seem to force his daughter to train, compared to Trunks, and instead spoils her with occasional shopping trips.
According to Akira Toriyama’s statement in Dragon Ball Forever, a guide to Dragon Ball, Bra is also strong, but decided against fighting and instead went shopping. In Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File, it is implied that she not only has Saiyan blood, but can also become a Super Saiyan if the necessary conditions are met.
