JAKARTA, KOMPAS.comTNI Commander General Andika Perkasa remove the swimming test mechanism and academic test in the selection process TNI soldiers acceptance period 2022.

In addition, the former Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) also removed the provision on the prohibition of descendants of the banned party, the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI), from the list of requirements for recruiting soldiers for the same period.

This policy was taken by Andika when he chaired the coordination meeting for the admission of TNI soldiers in 2022, which included career soldier officers, career non-commissioned officers, and enlisted career soldiers.

The decision to revoke the swimming test mechanism and academic test after Andika received an explanation from his subordinates.

This policy applies in the selection process at the regional to central level.

“That’s not necessary anymore, why swimming? So number three why? Because of what? we don’t fair there are also people who never swim, later not fairnever mind,” said Andika, quoted from General TNI Andika Perkasa’s YouTube channel, Thursday (31/3/2022).

Andika also explained that the mechanism for recruiting soldiers no longer needed to apply academic tests.

According to him, in the academic field, it is enough to take from the value of a degree.

“In my opinion, this academic test has taken the GPA, then the transcript, because for me what is more important is the diploma, that is their high school diploma,” explained Andika.

“There is no need for an academic test, an academic test earlier, the diploma earlier. If there is a national exam, it’s even more accurate, that’s it,” he continued.
