“Bertille Falissard: Colorful Visual Art Exhibition and Author at Berlioz Farm”

Artist, visual artist and author, Bertille Falissard is currently exhibiting in the room L’Étable at the Berlioz farm in La Côte-Saint-André.

She presents her paintings, her object books, her artistic performances. And his abundant universe, all in color and in movement, where the trace of the brush extends and flourishes under the lights of the projectors, declined in dazzling, whimsical costumes, taking up the same themes. “As if I entered the universe of my paintings”, she specifies.

A world in which the “headless women” evolve, from a series of sanguines begun just forty years ago, “which twists the neck of received ideas”. Where the masked characters of a Double-dealing created in 2017 smile and fly away when the drawings are turned over. Where the big ball of the show who stings a costume with more than a thousand quills, explains “how you break your shell to allow yourself to grow” and regain your freedom.

Bertille Falissard’s canvases are large format, square to be viewed in one direction or another: “I work on changing the way you look. When she dips her pen in blood or Chinese ink to start a series, she says she doesn’t know where it will lead her. “I work live. The drawing validates something that is happening in my life. When I make the connection, I hold the series. It’s a journey, a real in-depth work. »

The artist’s book is an opportunity to make his work better known. In 2019, Bertille Falissard obtained a scholarship for her publishing project account book , where the archive documents of the family factory are a pretext to tell his personal story. The same year, his book Scare my night was awarded the Responsible Book Prize at the 17^e edition of the Nuit du livre at the National Library of France.

From the trace of the brush on the canvas, to the movement on the stage and to the word written in the book, the artist’s approach is the same: “Getting as close as possible to the intimate. »
