The Gallery remains a delightful challenge: guessing the theme of the pictures and naming them right away. Eight shirts from European football clubs? Easy. Eight dog breeds? To do. Eight medieval weapons? That’s right: halberd I hadn’t guessed either. Eight marriages? Difficult. A bit startling: the gallery question about By Coronawacht, the painting free to The Night Watch. A la Rembrandt, Tom van Wanrooy painted the protagonists in the pandemic. Bert Visscher, Daphne Deckers and matre Sergio Vyent, they did not come to Marion Koopmans, Ab Osterhaus, Ernst Kuipers. How is it possible? For a year and a half they were (rightly!) on talk shows about 19,586 times to explain the pandemic. Did the candidates want to forget about the pandemic and (therefore) them as soon as possible?
