Bernau / Barnim: The digital equipment in schools is being further improved. The past few years and, in particular, the corona pandemic have shown very clearly how necessary the digital equipment of educational institutions is. The city is therefore equipping four municipal schools with a total of 140 laptops.
Two employees of the municipal main office loaded 35 devices for the elementary school Schönow this morning. This is the turn after the elementary school at Hasenheide, the elementary school at Blumenhag and the Georg-Rollenhagen-School have been technically equipped. At the end of the summer, the Tobias-Seiler-Oberschule will also be digitally upgraded. “The children and young people can use the laptops to expand their digital skills and thus develop skills that will be useful to them in their further education and future career. In addition, the devices should enable schools to react flexibly in emergencies and continue to offer lessons,” says school head Yvonne Dankert-Schmidt.
For these investments, around 46,000 euros came from municipal funds and a good 135,000 euros from the funding of investment measures to equip school authorities with school-related digital end devices from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
