FAJAR.CO.IDBALI — PSM Makassar managed to achieve its first win in the 2023/2024 AFC Cup after beating Hougang United 3-1 on the third matchday.
The match between PSM Makassar and Hougang United itself took place at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Wednesday (25/10/2023).
The two goals scored in the first half came through a brace from defender Yuran Fernandes in the 22nd minute and 29th minute.
The other two goals scored in the second half came from Adilson Silva in the 55th minute, then Donde Maksimovic responded with a penalty in the 78th minute.
After the match, coach Bernardo Tavares mentioned several important factors that enabled his team to perform fiercely in this match.
He said that defeats in the previous two matches were motivation for his players to be able to perform better and achieve victory in this match
“I think the players will certainly get more motivation after two weeks in a row,” said Bernardo Tavares in the press conference session after the match, Wednesday (25/10/2023).
The Portuguese coach returned to the players continuing to show motivation, enthusiasm and focus as they face the next match.
“But I hope that in the next match the motivation will be very high, the enthusiasm will be high, but the most important thing is that the focus must be higher,” he said.
However, Tavares reminds children when they are far ahead to maintain focus so they don’t commit any more violations.
