The Bern cantonal police arrested six young people who were involved in false collections in favor of sports clubs in the Bern region. They had been raising money for several months when a woman scented the scam in mid-February.
The investigation then resulted in the arrest of six young people between the ages of 14 and 16, police and the Bern public prosecutor’s office said on Friday. They had established false donation forms and had been ringing the doors or approaching passers-by on the street since August 2019. The money collected was going into their pocket.
They roamed in various towns and claimed to collect for non-local clubs. The ongoing investigation will determine the amount of money and the number of people eaten. (Ps / nxp)
