Bernese police have nipped in the bud Saturday in Federal Square and Allmend Grassland attempts to demonstrate against anti-coronavirus measures. Identity checks have taken place.
The police had sealed off the Federal Square on Saturday in the middle of the day as soon as the market closed. Metal barriers were installed and the police were visible in numbers, said a journalist from the ATS agency.

At the Allmend, around 20 people who refused to comply were surrounded and their identity was checked. As this is an unauthorized event, they are exposed to denunciation.
A notorious activist had called on social networks to demonstrate at the Allmend. Similar demonstrations have already taken place in Federal Square on May 2 and 7.
