Four fire engines and around ten police cars have been in use for about two hours, according to the reader. “The police were armed with protective vests, protective shields and helmets when they entered the apartment block.”

The Bern canton police confirmed the contingent. “A person who has threatened to possibly harm himself does not want to come out of the house,” said media spokeswoman Lena Zurbuchen on Wednesday evening.
