If the Young Boys become Swiss football champions on Tuesday evening, the fans can turn night into day. The city of Bern has granted a free night for this case.

Security director Reto Nause (middle) confirmed the corresponding information from the BSC Young Boys on Sunday at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. The Bernese play against GC in Zurich on Tuesday evening. With a win, they can secure their 16th championship title in the club’s history.

Thousands of Bernese fans are expected to attend the game in Zurich. The match will be broadcast live in Bern’s Wankdorf stadium. In the case of the championship title, the team should be given a reception late at night in Wankdorf.

YB has been champion four times in recent years. In 2018 and 2019, the title was extensively celebrated with tens of thousands of followers. In 2020 and 2021, the official championship celebrations with the fans fell through because of Corona.
