Bern BE: Man injured in fight – witness call

A fight broke out at the Zytglogge in Bern on Friday afternoon. A man was taken to the hospital with injuries, and a second man allegedly involved in the argument was stopped. Witnesses are being sought.

On Friday, February 18, 2022, shortly after 1:10 p.m., the Bern cantonal police received a report of a fight between two people at the Zytglogge.

According to initial findings, two men initially clashed verbally for reasons that have yet to be clarified, which led to a physical altercation. The two men allegedly involved could be found on site by the deployed emergency services. One of the two was injured in the fight, was then treated by an ambulance team and taken to the hospital. The second man allegedly involved was stopped by the police and taken to a police station for further clarification.

The cantonal police in Bern have started investigations to clarify the circumstances and background of the dispute – in particular the roles of those involved.

In this connection, witnesses are being sought. Anyone who can provide information about the altercation is asked to call +41 31 638 81 11.
