The city of Bern has received a church with a sacristy, an old parish hall and an old rectory from the parish. The parish hall and the rectory will now be converted for school purposes, as the administration of the president of the city of Berne announced on Friday.
In the future the facility will be called “Kinderhaus Rossfeld”. Voters approved a loan of 16.1 million francs in June 2024. Construction is expected to begin next week. The building assembly should retain its current character internally and externally. The one-story intermediate building connecting the two buildings is expected to break ground in January 2025. God’s children’s home is expected to be operational in August 2026.
