Bermúdez, against advancing the curfew at Easter | Radio Club Tenerife

The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez (CC), has been totally against the proposal of the Canarian president, Ángel Víctor Torres (PSOE), to advance the curfew at 22:00 on Easter, for all the islands and regardless of the epidemiological situation that each one experiences.

Bermúdez has asked the regional Executive to reconsider the idea; announced by Torres this weekend and which will be debated next Wednesday during the meeting of the Interterritorial Health Council with the Ministry of Health.

The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife considers that, advancing the curfew to 22:00 in Holy Week, would have a “important condition in the hospitality industry” Therefore, it affirms that there is no scientific evidence that implies a reduction in infections in the face of the damage that it would cause to the hospitality sector and that, “At no time has it been shown to be a factor in its expansion.”
