The Berlin Volleys were only able to avert their fifth defeat of the season in the volleyball Bundesliga with the greatest effort. After an ultimately disappointing performance, the team of coach Cedric Enard prevailed in the home game against SVG Lüneburg on Wednesday with 3: 2 (23:25, 19:25, 25:20, 25:19, 16:14). The Berlin team made up a 2-2 set deficit. But because of the two lost sentences, they only had two of the three possible points.
The Lüneburg team were also the more concentrated and more determined team in the second round, but lost their line after leading the set 2-0. The Berliners made rigorous use of the opponent’s weak phase. From then on, they put more pressure on, especially with the serve. The reward was reaching the tiebreak. There the guests were wide awake again, but awarded a match point. An attack by Lüneburg’s Richard Peemüller out of bounds finally decided the game still happily for the Berliners.
