Four years after the first major demonstration of the “lateral thinking” movement in Berlin, several thousand demonstrators once again marched through the capital. Some participants waved flags with the dove of peace. Others called on banners for “an analysis of the corona measures” and “consequences for those responsible”.
After the start, the demonstration moved along Kurfürstendamm and Tauentzienstrasse in the direction of Berlin-Tiergarten. The “Querdenken 711” movement has announced a rally there for later in the afternoon under the motto “Freedom, Peace, Joy”. The organizer is the “Querdenken” initiator Michael Ballweg.

The demonstration began peacefully
According to the Berlin police, the start of the demonstration was peaceful. The number of participants cannot yet be estimated, but there are several thousand, said a spokeswoman. The police say they have a total of 500 officers on duty.
5,000 participants were registered for the demonstration and 17,000 for the subsequent rally. Several counter-demonstrations were also announced.
The “Querdenken” movement was formed in Stuttgart in the wake of the Corona pandemic and spread to many German cities. The supporters repeatedly demonstrated publicly against the political measures to contain the Corona virus.
