Berlin: 2,200 ads against climate protection activists since January

In the German capital of Berlin, climate protection activists have blocked roads 276 times this year. In addition, there were 42 other actions in mid-December, some of them criminal, police chief Barbara Slowik told dpa. In total, there are already 2,200 criminal complaints and 600 fine notices.

Police counted 220,000 hours of action by police officers. The next generation blocks started in the second half of January 2022. The first wave of actions lasted until the spring, followed by a second wave in the summer and a third wave from October. The group then traveled to other cities and airports.
