As of April 1st, Sabine Brase will take over as managing director of the Ernst von Bergmann Clinic in the area of care – education – future. She completes the management trio of Klinikum Ernst von Bergmann gGmbH in Potsdam, which includes Hans-Ulrich Schmidt as management spokesman and Dr. Karin Hochbaum as Medical Director. The state capital of Potsdam, as a shareholder, had combined the replacement of a managing director with a reorganization at management level.
“Miss Dr. Hochbaum and I are looking forward to shaping the future together with Sabine Brase from April. We are united by the goal of steering our Klinikum EvB well through the currently challenging times in the healthcare sector. As the management, we see this interprofessional cooperation as a fundamental requirement for quality and safety in patient care,” says Hans-Ulrich Schmidt.
Sabine Brase explains: “I am looking forward to the new tasks at the KlinikumEvB and would like to make my contribution to further guaranteeing and securing our healthcare mandate as a focal healthcare provider in the region. We want to cushion the shortage of skilled workers with innovative ideas and methods. It is also important to strengthen the training of all healthcare professions and to establish and further develop new job profiles for academically qualified employees in care and therapy in order to remain prepared for the future.”
Sabine Brase has been working in healthcare for over 20 years. She completed her nursing training in Stralsund. She worked for many years in various positions in nursing at the Klinikum Region Hannover and studied nursing science/ nursing management at the Ernst Abbe University Jena while working. She has been the nursing director and member of the hospital management for more than ten years, most recently as an authorized signatory of the Oldenburg Clinic.
As a health manager and trained coach (DGfC), she combines current process and personnel development models as well as theoretical management knowledge on organizational development and the future viability of clinics in her daily work and relies on modern, value- and loyalty-oriented management approaches in her management work. For her strategic vision, her unconventional thinking and her willingness to change, Sabine Brase received the Vordenker Award 2021 from Bibliomed Verlag and was recognized as a Transformation Leader 2021 by ZENO.
Sabine Brase is involved in many professional associations and societies. Among other things, she is spokeswoman for the Federal Working Group on Nursing Management of the German Professional Association for Nursing Professions (DBfK), a member of the German Society for Nursing Science and of Spitzenfrauen Gesundheit eV. She has also been a certified PERMA Lead Consultant since January 2023 and pursues the goal of positive leadership or strength-oriented leadership to implement in practice.
Sabine Brase has recently been living with her husband near Potsdam and enjoys exploring the region by motorbike in her free time. She has two grown sons.
