Berlin (dpa) – There are again queues in front of Berlin’s legendary techno club Berghain: On Saturday, after a long Corona break, the institution reopened for party-goers – but first of all, its garden alone, like last summer.
According to the website, access to the outdoor area is only for those who have been vaccinated, recovered or those who tested negative. Furthermore, it is mandatory to wear medical masks in the club garden. The first people to wait in the early Saturday afternoon wore mostly black clothes. If the weather is good, the garden should remain open on the weekends, with a changing DJ program.
For those interested in art, the inside of the club has been open again since June: In cooperation with the Boros Foundation, the Berghain is showing an art exhibition there, in the course of which a huge banner with the words “Tomorrow is the question” is emblazoned on the outer facade. The constantly changing installation “Berl Berl” by the artist Jakob Kudsk Steensen, who has transformed a hall at Berghain into a virtual swampy landscape, can also be seen on the site.
