Bergen Municipality, Coronavirus | Urgent summons to press conference

Bergen municipality will inform about the worrying corona situation.

In recent days and weeks, the municipality has had a dramatic increase in the number of cases of infection. This prompted Bergen municipality to introduce new measures earlier this week.

– Most cases of infection have increased sharply in Bergen and are connected to the students. Therefore, we implement measures in dialogue with FHI, said City Councilor Roger Valhammer (Labor).

Saturday morning writing Bergensavisen that three people have been admitted to Haukeland Hospital, and that there is an increase of two admissions from the day before. It is also reported that three school classes on Askøy have been quarantined after four people have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease.

* Recommendation to use face masks on public transport in situations of congestion where the 1-meter rule cannot be complied with.

* The number of people attending both private gatherings and public events is reduced. A maximum of 10 people can now attend private gatherings. At public events, a maximum of 50 people can attend.

* Restrictions on visits to municipal health institutions are introduced. The scheme of one hour a week is reintroduced.

* At pubs and restaurants, guests must identify themselves, and an overview must be kept of guests who have been present.

* All employees in the municipality who can have a home office must have it.

* The City Council has also appointed municipal crisis management (KKL) for up to ten days in order to handle the situation as efficiently as possible.

* The measures were adopted on Tuesday and are valid for ten days.

Heslsebyråd Beate Husa said on Tuesday that the situation is critical, and now the municipality is urgently convening a press conference. The aforementioned Husa and Valhammer will be present, and so will medical director Trond Egil Hansen.
