The film “Triangle of Sadness” was awarded the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Actress Iris Berben plays a supporting role in the satire.
– Cannes. The actress Iris Berben reacted with euphoric words to the award of “Triangle of Sadness” with the Palme d’Or in Cannes. She has a supporting role in the film by Swedish director Ruben Östlund, which won the film festival’s top prize. “I am overjoyed to be a small piece of the jigsaw puzzle in this angry, funny, sad and contradictory film satire,” said the 71-year-old. “Triangle of Sadness” is a satire on the world of influencers and the super-rich. Among other things, he plays on a luxury yacht. After being hijacked by pirates, some of the ship’s travelers are stranded on an island where hierarchies are reversed. Because an employee who took care of the toilets on the yacht is the only one who can catch fish, make fire and thus ensure the survival of the people. Iris Berben plays a ship passenger who has a speech disorder after a stroke and can only say “In the clouds” and sometimes “No”. She is also among the travelers stranded on the island.
