Berardi relaunches Sassuolo, Verona beaten 3-1 – Il Tempo

REGGIO EMILIA (ITALPRESS) – Sassuolo smiles again. In the first advance of the third day of Serie A, Alessio Dionisi’s team found their first success of the season, against Hellas Verona they finished 3-1: the real protagonist was Domenico Berardi, author of a brace, Pinamonti also scoring. The return of number 10 was enough to turn the light back on and start scoring again.
The first real news of the day was precisely that of the attacker’s return after the double exclusion due to market rumors, Dionisi lined up the usual 4-3-3 with Laurientè and Pinamonti to complete the attack. Baroni sent Djuric to the bench, in attack space for the Folorounsho-Ngonge duo to support Jordi Mboula. A more proactive Hellas was expected, but the Gialloblù were unable to repeat what they did against Roma. Practically only one team was seen on the pitch, with the hosts first managing and then dominating in the second half: Pinamonti thought of unlocking the challenge in the 11th minute with an assist from Toljan, a close header in the small area that packed the legs of the guests. The only one to create dangers was Ngonge, but in the 25th minute the former Groningen striker had a goal disallowed for an irregular position. The Scala’s draw was almost accidental, 11′ into the second half it was Ngonge himself with a cross-shot from the right lane that surprised Consigli, who was not very reactive on the trajectory to return. However, the 1-1 draw did not discourage Berardi and his companions, the number 10 of the Emilians split the match in two within nine minutes: first the goal in the 19th minute with an unstoppable diagonal for Montipò after a deflection, then the penalty obtained (for a foul by Doig) and converted in the 28th minute. Verona tried to draft a reaction without however advancing, Dionisi’s team even came close to scoring the fourth goal through Mulattieri. After the break, the neroverdi will challenge ex Di Francesco’s Frosinone, while Verona will welcome Bologna.
