Karim Benzema seamlessly lands a penalty kick when Real Madrid defeated by Manchester City. Former Premier League star Alan Shearer admitted to being stunned by the Big Benz harvest.
While playing at the Etihad Stadium, Wednesday (27/4/2022) early morning WIB, Man City won 4-3 over Madrid. Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva scored the home team’s goals.
Madrid’s three goals were packed by two players. Karim Benzema scored two goals, the other was recorded for Vinicius Junior.
Benzema scored one goal through the white point. Aymeric Laporte handball in the Man City penalty box, the referee gives a penalty to Madrid.
Benzema progressed to be the executor, even though he had just missed two penalties when Madrid won 3-1 over Osasuna.
Overall, Benzema has missed three penalties in Madrid this month. He was also unable to net the ball through the penalty spot in Madrid’s 2-1 win over Celta Vigo.
Benzema confidently took a harvest kick to bring Madrid to cut the goal margin from Man City. Man City goalkeeper Ederson was tricked to death.
Shearer also praised Benzema’s harvest kick. He said there was high confidence and great courage for the 34-year-old player to be very calm in carrying out penalties in a harvest style.
“After missing three penalties… All we can do is laugh and think ‘I can’t believe Karim .’ Benzema just did that’,” Shearer said on the BBC.
“It’s nothing but arrogance, but also a belief and ability to do that. He looks better and better. A bravery! That’s incredible,” he added.
