Jakarta –
Karim Benzema self-confident Real Madrid will win over Manchester City in the semi-final second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu. But it also highlights a number of aspects.
Real Madrid returned from a visit to Manchester City headquarters at the Etihad Stadium, Wednesday (27/4/2022) early morning WIB with a narrow 3-4 defeat. This result makes the situation towards the semifinal second leg Liga Champions Madrid is still very open, especially in the absence of the away goals rule.
Considering Madrid’s match at the Etihad, where they have always managed to respond to Man City, Benzema is confident of a win at the Bernabeu.
“Losing that game is never good because we are excited about our chance to win the Champions League. The most important thing is that we never give up,” Karim Benzema told the club’s official website.
“We now have to return to the Bernabeu, where we will need even more support from the fans and we will win, which will be magical.”
But the 34-year-old striker also realized his team needed improvements, especially in terms of playing character. Madrid must not allow Manchester City to be too comfortable controlling the game.
“If you go into a game without confidence, they will come forward and score two goals because they are a good team and press hard. We are a bit lacking in everything: ambition, pressing and confidence,” continued the Frenchman.
