Karim Benzema proves capable of being the focus of the goal Real Madrid since being left behind Cristiano Ronaldo. He showed off his sharpness to bring El Real to win El Clasico.
Madrid managed to overthrow Barcelona 2-1 in the title match The classic at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, Sunday (11/4/2021) early morning WIB. Two Los Blancos winning goals were scored by Karim Benzema (13 ‘) and Toni Kroos (28’). Meanwhile, the Blaugrana was only able to retaliate through Oscar Mingueza.
Opening goal Benzema against Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s goal, proving that he is capable of being the main focus on the front lines of Real Madrid. This is the 10th goal for the French striker in the El Clasico match.
Benzema has recorded goals in seven consecutive matches in LaLiga while he has played. The 33-year-old striker scored nine goals in these seven matches.
The last time Benzema failed to score while playing was when he met Huesca in February. The former Olympique Lyon striker is slowly starting to approach Lionel Messi at the top of the Spanish League top scorer list.
Benzema who is currently packing 19 goals in LaLiga four goals adrift of La Pulga. His number of goals is the same as Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno and Atletico Madrid pillar Luis Suarez.
Benzema has been Madrid’s main goal machine since leaving Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in 2018. Benzema’s productivity has increased considerably since the departure of CR7.
The last time he had a duet with Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2017/2018 season, Benzema only packed 12. This number shot up in the following season with Benzema scoring 30 goals in all competitions.
In the 2019/2020 season, Benzema was still able to maintain his consistency, even though his goal score decreased slightly to 27 goals. He stepped on the gas again this season, having scored 25 goals in all competitions.
Benzema clearly still has the opportunity to continue to add to his goals because Real Madrid leaving 8 matches in LaLiga and still competing in the Champions League. It is not impossible, Benzema can surpass his most productive season with Madrid in 2011/2012 with 32 goals.
