Bentley’s First Electric Car with Hands-Free Driving Technology: Coming in 2025

The first electric car of the British luxury car manufacturer Bentley will be shown in 2025, and the chairman of the company’s board, Adrian Hallmark, has revealed that it will be equipped with hands-free driving technology, that is, the car will be able to drive itself. He said this in an interview Autocar. Initially, it will be a semi-automated autonomous driving system that will work on selected highways, but a fully autonomous driving system is expected later. It will most likely be offered with software updates.

Although it was initially predicted that Bentley’s first electric car would be a sedan or crossover with high ground clearance, the manufacturer opted for a two-door coupe. Hallmarks has already revealed that the car will be able to develop up to 1,400 horsepower, accelerating to 100 km/h in one and a half seconds. It’s insanely fast, of course, so a less powerful version is in the works for those for whom 1,400 horsepower is still a bit too much.

Bentley’s electrification plans are powerful – starting from 2025, the manufacturer will present at least one new electric car every year until 2030. The automaker will also invest $3 billion to completely rebuild its manufacturing plant. Bentley should not be delayed for long, because another luxury car manufacturer and direct competitor, Rolls-Royce, is preparing for the arrival of its electric Specter model to customers.
