Bentley Flying Spur sedan decorated with 3D wood inserts

The Bentley Flying Spur sedan has received a new interior trim option – three-dimensional wood panels for the rear doors. The pattern, which consists of 150 diamond cells, was designed by the court atelier Mulliner.

Each panel is a solid piece of wood – a choice of American walnut or cherry. The three-dimensional pattern is created using a multi-axis milling machine with an accuracy of 0.1 millimeter, and the finishing touches are applied by hand by Mulliner craftsmen.

The finished panel is coated with an open-cell varnish that enhances the color and texture of the natural wood.

The material for the work is carefully selected: the cut for the salon of a luxurious grand tourer should not have knots or tar pockets.

This wood finish was first introduced by Bentley in the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car shown at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The diamond shape of the elements refers to the quilted seats of the Mulliner Driving Specification.

Also for the Flying Spur, you can choose the trim of the rear door cards in 3D-leather, developed by specialists from the brand’s headquarters in British Crewe especially for the new product. More “modest” options are available – panels of smooth wood or leather.

The new generation Bentley Flying Spur was presented last summer. It is equipped with an upgraded W12 engine delivering 635 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. Acceleration from zero to “hundreds” takes 3.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is 333 kilometers per hour.
