The Bentley brand boasted new carbon wheels, which were created especially for Bentayga’s premium SUVs. The carbon rims are 22 inches in diameter, making them the largest carbon discs in a production car. At the same time, their development took five long years, which roughly corresponds to the launch of the model on the market.
The carmaker has collaborated with Bucci Composites on the development of the discs and will be available exclusively through the range of exclusive Mulliner accessories. In addition to the unique appearance, however, carbon rims also offer a number of positives in terms of driving characteristics.

Compared to conventional discs, each carbon wheel is 6 kilograms lighter, which saves 24 kilograms of unsprung weight. The giant SUV on carbon wheels should offer better handling, tire grip, slower wear and even better brake performance.
In addition, before being launched on the market, the wheels underwent demanding TÜV testing, during which they were exposed to simulated impacts on curbs, large holes on roads, exposed to extreme torque, used with overinflated and underinflated tires, etc.

At the same time, carbon wheels passed all tests and performed better than classic alloy wheels. Disruption of the structure of conventional rims has often led to the risk of a sharp loss of pressure in the tire, which can mean a loss of control of the car. However, with a damaged carbon disc, the pressure leaked from the tire gradually and the driver should have more time to park the car safely.
Although the carmaker has not yet revealed the price of new carbon rims, it should be possible to order them later this year. In addition to carbon rims, Mulliner also offers a number of other carbon parts for the Bentayga SUV, such as the front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, etc.
