Arsenal have had a hard time getting out of the right-hand row in recent weeks. A win against Crystal Palace was therefore a must. Aubameyang’s quick goal was welcomed.
Crystal Palace, coached by Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, certainly did a good job. Partey’s loss of ball was the basis of Benteke’s equalizer, who, incidentally, finished it off nicely.
After the break, a second Red Devil had entered the field with Sambi Lokonga, but he also let the ball get away too easily. Palace was able to break out and Odsonne Edouard finished wonderfully.
After this, it was all hands on deck for Palace to take the win. That seemed to work, until Benteke – who in the final phase was more of a defender than attacker – came just too late to prevent Lacazette from scoring after a messy phase.
A painful ending for Palace, although Arsenal will not be satisfied with just one point either.
