Benoit Paire explains what makes the Big 3 so special

Former world number 18 Benoit Paire insists that he respect the new generation but stresses that the Big 4 are special – Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray.

The tour is going through strange times with Djokovic, Nadal and Federer all skipping the Toronto Masters and Cincinnati Masters. Djokovic is expected to be back in action at the US Open, but Nadal and Federer are out for the remainder of the season.

“It is true that the new generation is good and I respect them,” noted Paire per Ravi Ubha. “I remember the time when I was in the Rome semi-finals with Nadal, Federer and Djokovic in 2013 – these are guys who express their presence in a different way.

I will miss her. I really like the new generation, but there isn’t the effervescence that Nadal, Djokovic and Murray had – all these guys – once they played, the audience was insane.

It was quiet before they entered the stadium, and then there was a standing ovation for all the great players in the great courts. It was a special situation. ”

Paire had a good Cincinnati campaign

Paire took some big wins at the Cincinnati Masters when he defeated Miomir Kecmanovic, world number 10 Denis Shapovalov and former Wimbledon semi-finalist John Isner en route to the quarterfinals.

“I enjoy playing so much in front of people again, being able to go out, go to fast food and get back to the life I love. That’s why the results are back. I am happy to have my tennis back and my joy, to be in one place, “Paire told L’Equipe.

After the surprising victory over No. 6 seeded Shapovalov, Paire had a message for critics and doubters. “I’ve heard many times that I’m no longer a tennis player: ” Paire this, Paire that ‘

‘Now that tennis is back to normal (fewer bubbles) I’ve managed to beat a top 10 player, “Paire told L’Equipe.
