After being steamrolled by the Knicks during the first conflict of the season, the Pacers wanted to set the record straight tonight. Mission accomplished, because Rick Carlisle’s men, led by two great nights Tyrese Haliburton / Bennedict Mathurin, avenged those of Tom Thibodeau, by winning 132 to 121.
A few years ago, a game between the Pacers and Knicks would have been a boring meeting between the two prisoners of the Eastern Conference. But here we are in 2024 and things have changed a lot. These two franchises have evolved, and are now swimming in the same pond as the big fish of the NBA. So, as expected, this remake of the Eastern Conference semifinals kept all of its promises. In the end, and after a difficult event, it was Indiana who came away with the victory (132-121).
What a night for the @pacers backcourt duo… combine for 73 points in win 🔥

A success that was uncertain until the last quarter, in which the Pacers accelerated to kill the game. At the same time, it must be said that it would still have been a shame to spoil the masterpiece of the Haliburton/Mathurin duo. The former finished the game with 35 points and 14 assists, and the Canadian added 38 points on 7/9 from distance – new career records – and 8 rebounds. Two XXL performances to allow the Pacers to withstand those of Jalen Brunson (33 pts) and Karl-Anthony Towns (30 pts).
Tyrese Haliburton is disappointed about the start of the season, but he delivered his classic on the Knicks last night:
35 points
14 passed
shot 11/18
Finished with 0 points at MSG earlier in the season, revenge taken.

With this victory, Indiana regains a balanced record (5-5), and pushes New York into the negative (4-5). Victory everywhere this season, we don’t know about you, but we can’t wait for the third round.
