This weekend, Benjamin Gratton appeared in a video on his page Benjamin’s worldin which he revealed a difficult reality for autistic people: visiting the dentist.
The father, Mathieu Gratton, wrote this alongside the video: “ Aaaaah the dentist! When we receive our child’s diagnosis of autism, it’s not the first thing that comes to mind but, a little later, we realize that motor skills interfere with good brushing, that diligence does not is not there, as noises and dentist instruments can create anxiety, etc. Benjamin had some bad news this summer… His first cavity. From the outset, the charming young man explains to the camera what he is about to experience and encourages people to follow him.
Although he shows up at reception with obvious anxiety, Benjamin takes on the challenge with flying colors, probably better than many neurotypicals.
