«Benin will no longer import eggs or frozen chickens from December 31, 2024.. This is the announcement made by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Gaston Dossouhoui. He made this known during the explanatory meeting he had with the Soybean producers in Doumè, Commune of Savalou in the Collines department. According to the ministerial authority, Benin will develop its own chain of bicycle chicken. “From December 31, 2024, no more eggs, no more frozen chicken will return to Benin. That means we’re not going to import any more. We are going to develop our bicycle chicken sector. I therefore invite you to revitalize your chicken coops because the market will demand it”said the Minister of Livestock.
