Benin Showcases Innovative Healthcare Initiatives at Major Franco-African Summit
Paris, France – Benin’s Minister of Health, Professor Benjamin HOUNKPATIN, took center stage at the sixth edition of "Ambitions Africa," a prestigious summit bringing together key political and economic figures from Africa and France. The event, held in Paris on November 19-20, 2024, focused on fostering collaboration and innovation in various sectors, with a particular emphasis on healthcare.
During a panel discussion on cooperation, technology, and training within the African health system, Minister HOUNKPATIN highlighted Benin’s transformative journey in leveraging technological advancements to revolutionize healthcare. He painted a picture of the Calavi International Hospital Center (CHIC) – a shining example of progress on the continent – and stressed the crucial need for African nations to keep pace with the rapidly evolving health landscape.
"How fast is progress on the African continent in terms of technological innovations in the field of health and how can we create a collaboration of activities and business between the continent and Europe to succeed in this challenge?" The minister’s eloquent response began by emphasizing the quiet revolution underway at CHIC in Benin.
