Young Brazilian central defender is on loan from Atlético Mineiro

Distinguished as the best defender in January in the 2nd League, Gustavo Marques is already attracting interest from several clubs. To what Record has learned, the central defender of Benfica’s B team has been the target of surveys, including from Liga Betclic teams, who want to know his situation.
The 22-year-old player is in his second season in Portugal, after having represented Torreense in 2022/23, both on loan from Atlético Mineiro. The reds have an option to purchase, worth 1.5 million euros.
With one goal (against FC Porto B) in 21 games for the team led by Nélson Veríssimo, Marques was called up once by Roger Schmidt to the main team and even played 2 minutes in the 3-0 victory against Famalicão.
