What happened tonight at the João Rocha Pavilion shames Futsal, the Federation, those responsible for referees and Sporting fans. A regrettable night of “Vale Tudo” that in no way dignifies the sport and the sporting spirit that must overcome any rivalry.
We go in parts.
1 – on one match extremely balanced, arbitration has once again assumed a role that is repudiated. Several bids of clear analysis were decided in the opposite direction, with systematic damage to Benfica. The culmination of biased refereeing is expressed in Sporting’s fourth goal, with our player Robinho being pushed from behind without any foul being signaled..
2 – In a game with two great Futsal teams, we saw a rowdy chorus of insults, provocations and intimidation that lasted the entire match. How is it that, once again, Sporting fans break the window behind the bench of substitutes at Sport Lisboa e Benfica, even injuring one of our players? We should also ask: this behavior and the constant insults by Sporting fans will go unpunished once more?
3 – The police charge on Benfica supporters is reprehensible. The Club will ask the competent authorities for explanations as to the grounds that led to this serious decision for the physical integrity of our supporters.
One last word for the TV broadcast on Channel 11. No repetitions, no images and no comments at the moment as to everything mentioned above, in contrast to other comments that do not dignify the sport at all.
