Rafael Rodrigues is the big news on Benfica’s squad for the reception to Boavista, confirmed the morefootball. The young left-back is part of Roger Schmidt’s range of options and, for that reason, was not used in the B team’s game against Torreense.
The red coach is deprived of two solutions for the defensive flanks – Bah is suspended and Ristic is out due to injury -, betting on the 21-year-old left-back who has played 19 games in the II Liga this season.
Born in Oliveira do Bairro, Rafael Rodrigues started playing for the local club and in 2010 moved to CB Estarreja. In 2014, aged 12, he headed to Lisbon to represent Benfica.
