German coach made official for two seasons
Benfica announced this Wednesday the name of the three elements that will accompany Roger Schmidt at Luz: Jens Wissing, Jörn-Erik Wolf and Yann-Benjamin Kugel. Jens Wissing was assistant to the German coach in the second season at PSV, after also passing through the B team of Borussia Mönchengladbach as an assistant. Jörn Wolf has followed Schmidt the longest. He joined the coaching staff of the now eagles coach since 2016/17, still at Bayer Leverkusen. Afterwards, he was assistant to the Chinese of Beijing Guoan and the Dutch of PSV.
Yann-Benjamin Kugel is a physical trainer and has even been part of the German national team. Since 2020 he has been part of Roger Schmidt’s coaching staff, coinciding with his compatriot only at PSV Eindhoven.
