Jean-Clair Todibo was at Benfica in the first season of 2020/21, on loan from Barcelona, but said goodbye to the eagles, heading to Nice, with just two games in his bag.
Now, almost three years later, and still at Nice, where he is one of the team’s key figures, the 23-year-old centre-back has been called up to the French national team, but he doesn’t forget the period with an eagle on his chest, which, he guarantees, was the career worst.
«The passage through Benfica was the most complicated for me, I didn’t play. But it helped me a lot. I had to question myself and think. Looking back, I stabilized and managed to find a balance», he said, this Wednesday, at a press conference, quoted by RMC Sport.
Todibo also confessed which players he is inspired by as a defender: “I am inspired by Thiago Silva and Van Dijk, they are the ones I see playing the most. I was also inspired by Varane.”
