8-1! Benfica decimated Cliftonville in the semi-finals of group 6 qualifying for the Women’s Champions League. The eagles will thus face SFK Riga, in a game scheduled for Saturday, with the winner going on to the second round. In Seixal, the eagles did not give the Northern Ireland team any chances and reached the break with a 4-0 lead thanks to goals from Marie Alidou, Lúcia Alves and Andrea Falcón and an own goal by Norney (a ridiculous move).
At least half of the goal is from Alidou 😎 🤩 @UWCL | @SLBenfica 2 x 0 @cliftonvillefc#ChampionsELEVENpic.twitter.com/QNIa1JrFDz

In the second half, Benfica scored four more goals with Lara Martins in the spotlight. The 16-year-old scored twice (one of the goals was spot on!) in her first Champions League match! Amazing, isn’t it? Lúcia Alves also scored twice in the second half while Beatriz Nogueira (another debut to score) also added her name to the scorers’ list.
FROM 💫 LETTER A. Very Crack Lara Martins. 🤩 @UWCL | @SLBenfica 6 x 0 @cliftonvillefc#ChampionsELEVENpic.twitter.com/9pwawTn5q9
