Benfica won over its host Boavista 3-0, in the sixth round of the Portuguese Football League.
Benfica took the lead in the 11th minute through Vangelis Pavilidis, before teammate Orkun Cocu scored the second goal in the 31st minute.
In the first minute of stoppage time for the second half, Artair Cabral scored Benfica’s third goal.
Benfica raised its score to 13 points in third place, two points behind second-placed Porto, and five points behind leaders and defending champion Sporting Lisbon.
On the other hand, Boavista’s balance froze at 5 points in fifteenth place.
