It was not the first time that the active fan association of recreational footballers “Bavaria Rennsteig” had organized a charity small-pitch football tournament at the “Am Kickelhähnchen” sports facility in Geschwenda. The tournament was the one and most important task, but the surroundings with good care for all guests, games and fun for the youngest and dancing into the mild summer night were no less important. “We have everything well under control!” Manuela Elle praised all the helpers from the club and received nods of approval from her husband Bobbi. The visiting team from the club “Schickeria Garmont” from Schmalkalden populated the area around the playing field in the eye-catching red jersey. The friends from southern Thuringia stayed in Geschwenda for the first time and won the opening game against “Bavaria” 1-0. That was a good omen, because at the end of the tournament they took 2nd place in the men’s teams. “We feel that we are in good hands here with our fan comrades and that we are well looked after. Of course, the fact that we won the opening game is very motivating,” said the captain and devoted himself completely to his stretching exercises before the next game.
