Benefit concert of the BR Symphony Orchestra in video – Munich

A beautiful tradition lives on, despite Corona: the benefit concert of BR-Symphonieorchesters in favor of the advent calendar for good works of Süddeutsche Zeitung there will also be this year.

Who is playing and what is on the program?

Herbert Blomstedt conducts the Bavarian Radio Choir and Symphony Orchestra, the soloist is the soprano Julia Lezhneva. There are three works on the program. First you will hear Edvard Grieg from “Fire Salmer”: “Four Psalms for Solo and Choir a cappella”, op. 74/1 and 74/4. The solos are sung by Christian Immler and Tilman Lichdi. This is followed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Exsultate, jubilate”, motet for soprano, orchestra and organ, Köchelverzeichnis 165, with Julia Lezhneva as soloist. The third piece is Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 in C major, German directory 944, “Great C major Symphony”.

Originally, a quota of 200 tickets was planned for the concert. Anyone who has purchased a ticket should have received a letter from the BR by now. There are three options: You can have the ticket price refunded. The alternative is to get a voucher worth the ticket price, which is valid for three years for the entire BR range of events. However, there is also the option of donating the value of the card to the SZ advent calendar, for which a donation receipt will be issued at the beginning of next year.
