Vietnam U-23 national team confirmed themselves as winners of Group A SEA Games 2021 (2022) after beating Timor Leste 2-0 on Sunday (15/5).
Host Vietnam appeared to dominate the game at the Viet Tri Stadium. However, the built-in attack was not as efficient as the previous three matches.
As a result, Vietnam had to settle for a 0-0 draw in the first half.
Vietnam’s deadlock was finally broken in the 53rd minute through Nguyen Van Tung’s measured header.
Four minutes later, Vietnam almost doubled the score. Unfortunately, the shot of the Vietnamese player still hit the crossbar of Timor Leste.
