Noah Lyles won the men’s 100-meter sprint early Sunday evening in Budapest. Second place went to Letsile Tebogo from Botswana, and third place went to Britain’s Zahrnel Hughes.
Katarina Johnson-Thompson won the women’s heptathlon
Katarina Johnson-Thompson, the British winner in Doha in 2019, won the heptathlon with 6740 points, 20 points ahead of the American Anna Hall. The bronze medal went to the Dutch Anouk Vetter (6501).
Serbian world champion in women’s long jump
Ivana Vuleta won the women’s long jump world championship title with a result of 7 meters and 14 centimeters. The Serbian athlete finished ahead of American Tara Davis-Woodhall and Romanian Alina Rotaru-Kottmann.
