In the wake of the coronavirus health crisis, solidarity actions continue to take place in Benahadux, where the City Council has backed Jusapol’s appeal to make 2,235 robes, of which 835 have already been distributed, along with 370 pairs of booties.

Sent to Madrid

This preventive material against Covid-19 has been received by health personnel from the hospitals of Madrid, Albacete and Puerto Lumbreras (Murcia), staff from the Health Center and by the Benahadux Local Police. It is a gesture of solidarity that would not have been possible, as indicated by the City Council, without the commendable work of a score of Benaducense seamstresses and the neighboring Juan Ortega.

To this we must add the collaboration of Plastimer and Sotrafa, who have donated 7,080 meters of plastic to be able to make the dressing gowns and booties, and from Indalplaga, the company in charge of disinfecting them for delivery.

Books and food

On the other hand, the Benahadux City Council, in collaboration with the CEIP Father Manjón management, has completed the home delivery of the textbooks to the students of the center. In this way, around half a thousand schoolchildren can now do their homework more comfortably.

Also, the councilor for Social Services, Antonio Ros, has coordinated the distribution of 9,000 kilos of food to some seventy families in need in the town, within a campaign that has been promoted by the Red Cross.
