20 years of career, 3 Victoires de la Musique, more than 3 million records sold, Bénabar no longer has much to prove on the French music scene. In early 2021, the singer released his ninth studio album titled Rebellious Happy. Deprived of touring because of the health crisis, the songwriter was able to resume the path of concerts from February 2022 with his tour Indocile.
Thirty dates on the program with a visit to the mythical hall of the Olympia. Surrounded by his musicians, Bénabar traveled across France to perform on stage and finally find his audience. Moments of happiness and communion that he shared on his Instagram account during his tour.
Concert canceled
On April 25, Renaud’s close friend published a series of photos from his concert at the Olympia, photos accompanied by this caption: “The tour is over, here are some memories of the Olympia. After this short break, see you very soon this summer for the festivalswhere do we meet?“A message full of enthusiasm in the idea of starting his festival tour. A month later, he had published the calendar of his concerts throughout the summer.
When it should have happened when of the second evening of the Brumes festival in Haute-Loire on the stage of Sainte-Ségolène on July 9, the organization of the event announced in a press release that the Bénabar concert was canceled. The cause ? Not enough tickets sold : “The filling level of the concerts of the evening with Bénabar at the top of the bill, three weeks before the launch of the event, forces us to take the painful and reasonable decision not to maintain this eveningin order not to face very important management problems and thus definitively compromise the future of the Brumes“, explained the organization. For those who had taken their tickets, they will be refundable. The first evening to be held on July 8 with Christophe Maé headlining is maintained.
