The drama around Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia Sixers is one of the most exciting series of recent months. It must be said that the writers do not skimp on the twists and turns.
After particularly failed playoffs, Doc Rivers had largely blamed the player. Then in a twist that only the best productions are capable of, he changed his tone. The head coach of the Philadelphia Sixers then ensured that the problem was identified. And especially that he had a plan to fix it.
Certainly rumors were circulating. Admittedly, Daryl Morey is not the type to turn down a good trade. But the team said they wanted to keep it. And at least it was thought that the two sides would work together, without ruling out the possibility of a possible trade. But no…

Ben Simmons doesn’t seem very receptive to the idea of collaborating during the offseason on his franchise. This is what relates, in the podcast “The Gastroenteritis Blues”, Jake Fischer who devoted a paper to him on Bleacher Report:
“I’m not going to write it in my paper, but I’ll tell you guys, and you can do whatever you want with it.” They haven’t been able to just get in touch with Ben since the season ended. There was the intention to put in place a training program – as in the whole offseason. And it’s always been that way, the Sixers never really managed to come to an agreement with him on a development plan and it more or less always has been. (…)
It just doesn’t seem like there was the willingness to be on the same page to set this up, and it didn’t work this summer either. I don’t think that’s an encouraging sign that we can see him in Philadelphia in the future. “
Ben Simmons’ relationship to offseason work has always been cryptic at best. At worst problematic. But this total lack of contact has something to challenge.
Little glimmer of hope, members of the Sixers would have finally managed to communicate with him last week, on the occasion of his birthday. One month exactly after the end of the Sixers season …
“I’m told the Sixers are making a plan for some of their staff to go to LA where Ben is,” writing John Clark, de NBC Sport.
Either way, the situation does not smell good. Either the Philadelphia Sixers find a deal. Either Ben Simmons stays in Pennsylvania, after having worked a little with the coaches of the team. Difficult to know if we are heading for new twists in the series, or if we are taking the direction of the ultimate episode.
But a month without dialogue is clearly not trivial … They are strong, these US screenwriters, all the same.
