Ben is Back is a “family” film, since it sees a father, Peter Hedges, behind the camera, and in front, together with the extraordinary Julia Roberts, a son, Lucas Hedges. The film is the story of young Ben (Lucas Hedges), who lives in the community in an attempt to detoxify himself. On Christmas day he decides to leave the community to spend the holidays with the family. The surprised mother Holly (Julia Roberts) welcomes him with open arms, but she soon realizes that something is wrong. Over the next 24 hours Holly will do everything in her power to save her son and avoid the collapse of her family.
