These solemn additions spark the contemplations and hindsight fans can expect from Howard in his next fourth body of work. Speaking of these latest releases, he explains: “The song is essentially a critique of the ease with which people are drawn to violence and animosity for no reason, just to pass the time. And ultimately, how perhaps there is a simpler and more satisfying path.

“I wanted it to have a slang feel with very British rhymes and a macabre Roald Dahl sense of humor. I’m afraid my tweaks have made it a little more straightforward and serious. ‘Follies Fixture’ is a love song. It is a listless period of my life in search of routine in Paris ”.

Following his debut with the 2008 self-released EP Games in the Dark and a series of subsequent EPs, Howard signed with Island Records and won the titles British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist at the 2013 BRIT Awards. In 2019, he received further recognition for his rich songwriting and lyricism, winning the Ivor Novello Award for best musical and lyrical song for his 2018 single “Nica Libres at Dusk.”
